Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of August 4, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.
(1) Russian hybrid forces opened fire 21 times upon Ukrainian troops positions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine during the last 24 hours, including 9 times on Luhansk direction, 9 times on Donetsk direction and 3 times on Mariupol direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian troops intensified activities on Bahmut root and near Popasna; besides mentioned, Russian occupiers shelled upon Ukrainian troops positions in Novooleksandrivka; the enemy opened fire from grenade launchers of different systems and also released 4 mortar mines against Ukrainian troops in Katerynivka; in addition, Russian forces used grenade launchers against Ukrainian troops in Krymske; the enemy used small arms in Novotoshkivske; to this end, Russian armed provocation took place in Stanytsya Luhanska;
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian proxies fulfilled two attacks with the use of grenade launchers, APCs and high caliber machine guns upon Ukrainian troops in Butovka mine; to this end, 3-hours-long Russian shelling with grenade launchers of different systems took place in Avdiivka; the enemy’s shelling also reported at Svitlodarska line, Verkhnyotoretsk and Novoselivka Druha;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian troops shelled with machine guns and grenade launchers upon Ukrainian positions in Pavlopol; another shelling fulfilled by the enemy with the use of machine guns and small arms upon Ukrainian troops in Vodyane;
(5) No lethal casualties as well as no wounded in actions reported among Ukrainian servicemen in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours.
