Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of June 24, 2016

Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of June 24, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) The situation in the war zone remain tense. Russian armed forces fulfilled 50 attacks upon Ukrainian troops positions, in particular: 2 times on Luhansk direction, 15 times on Donetsk direction and 33 times on Mariupol direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian shelling took place at crossline in Popasna district;
(3) Donetsk direction: the enemy continues use of heavy weapons, i. e. mortars and 122-mm cannons; the hottest spots remain around Horlivka and Avdiivka industrial area; Russian fire resulted demages of 3 residential houses and injury for one civilian in Avdiivka; to this end, 7 Russian attacks fulfilled with the use of heavy forbidden arms;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian massive with the use of APC’s, mortar’ and sniper fire reported all across the frontline, in particular in Krasnogorivka, Maryinka, Dokuchaevsk suburb and Shyrokino; due to Russian occupiers aggressive actions Ukrainian troops were forced  to return fire; 5 times Russian forces opened fire from heavy arms on this direction;
(5) 2  Russian UAVs were spotted over the war zone in southeast Ukraine during the last day;
(6) Russian armed forces and their proxies have the following losses in the southeast Ukraine: 1 killed and 5 wounded;
(7) Russia continues to supply its regular armed forces and proxies in the southeast Ukraine with heavy arms and ammunition: 5 echelons with ammunition (160 tonnes) and 2 tanks of fuel (100 tonnes) arrived to Krasnodon railway station;
(8)  No lethal casualties among Ukrainian serviceman, 5 servicemen were wounded in action in southeast Ukraine over the last day;  1 MoIA staff killed and 4 more wounded as a result of the military car accident at the checkpoint near Lysachansk;
