Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  September 16, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) Russian hybrid forces attacks against Ukrainian troops reported 30 times in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past 24 hours; the enemy used forbidden 82-mm mortar launchers fire 9 times;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian proxies fired with grenade launchers and high caliber machine guns in Krymske and released 60 mines of forbidden 82-mm caliber upon Ukrainian positions there; the enemy launched attack and released 35 mortar mines of 82-caliber upon Ukrainian troops in Novotoshkivske;
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian occupiers shelling with the use of high caliber machine guns and and mortars reported near Avdiivka; in addition, Ukrainian positions near Pisky came under Russian mortar fire; Russian proxies used grenade launchers during attacks near Svitlodarsk;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian forces used mortar launchers and grenade launchers while shelling at Ukrainian troops near Talakivka and Vodyane;
(5) No lethal casualties reported among Ukrainian troops, but 1 Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in action in the war zone in eastern Ukraine for the last 24 hours.
