Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of August 9, 2017

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  August 9, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.



(1) Russian hybrid forces fulfilled 28 attacks against Ukrainian troops in the war zone in eastern Ukraine during the last 24 hours, including 11 on Luhansk direction, 4 on Donetsk direction and 13 on Mariupol direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: Troytske – Novotoshkiske reported as the hottest spot on this direction; the enemy shelled with grenade launchers and machine guns at Novozvanivka; Russian occupiers opened fire from mortar launchers at Troytske; Russian mortar shelling also reported in Novotoshkivske; the enemy’s atatcks with APCs took place in Novooleksandrivka and Zolote; Russian proxies used grenade launchers fire in Schastya;
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian active mortara shelling reported at Kamyanka – Avdiivka – Butovka mine front direction; the hottest spot was Avdiivka as Russian occupiers 4 hours non stop shelling with the use of grenade launchers, mortars and small arms reported there and released 85 mines of different calibers Upon ukrainian troops positions; the enemy also released 40 mines upon Ukrainian positions in Kamyanka and Butovka mine; to this end, Russian APCs fire reported in Luhanske;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian proxies shelling took place in Maryinka; Russian troops fulfilled mortar launchers attacks in Krasnogorivka, Talakivka and Shyrokino; 3 times Russian APCs fire reported in Chermalyk; Russian forces opened fire with small arms upon Ukrainian positions at the front direction Pavlopil – Shyrokino;
(5) Ukrainian servicemen were killed in action and 8 were wounded in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day.
