Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of August 7, 2017

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  August 7, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) Russian hybrid forces fulfilled 18 attacks against Ukrainian troops in the war zone in eastern Ukraine during the last 24 hours, including 5 on Luhansk direction, 4 on Donetsk direction and 9 on Mariupol direction;

(2) Luhansk direction: Russian forces violated ceasefire near Bahmut road and in Popasna district; the enemy fired with mortars in Krymske; Ukrainian troops returned fire in Novotoshkivske and Novooleksandrivka;

(3) Donetsk direction: Russian occupiers attacks reported in Avdiivka and Pisky, where the enemy used armored vehicles and small arms against Ukrainian troops;

(4) Mariupol direction: RTense atmosphere reported on the south, right near the Azov sea; Russian proxies numerous times used forbidden mortar launchers and released about 40 mines upon Ukrainian troops positions; the most powerfull 1-hour-long attack reported in Shyrokino, where the enemy used, besides mentioned above, BM21 Grad fire and released 18 rockets at Ukrainian positions; 45-min ling attack with Russian sniper fire and grenade launchers shelling also took place in Novotroytske;

(5) Russian forces losses over the past week are as follows: 11 killed, 34 wounded and 1 UAV shot down;

(6) No lethal casualties, but 3 Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day.
