Ukraine war updates: daily briefing as of March 5, 2016

Ukraine war updates on March 5, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights

(1) The situation remains tense in the war zone in eastern Ukraine; Russian armed forces fired 50 times upon Ukrainian positions over the last day: 42 times on Donetsk direction, 6 times on Mariupol direction and 2 times on Luhansk direction;

 

(2) Luhansk direction: Russian proxies violated ceasefire regime two times in Popasny district;

 

(3) Donetsk direction: Russian armed troops fired upon Ukrainian forces positions across the whole front line from Troytske to Krasnogoryvka; Russians fulfilled 13 mortar launchers shelling near Horlyvka and Donetsk; Russian terrorists fired upon Ukrainian troops with grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms near Avdyivka, Pisky, Luhanske, Zaytseve, Mayorsk, Troyitske, Popasna, and Bogyslavske;

 

(4) Mariupol direction: Russian forces shelled upon Ukrainian positions near Starognatyvka, Chermalyk, and Shyrokyno with the forbidden mortar launchers; 1 Russian proxies’s provocation took place in Maryinka;

 

(5) The Ukrainian intelligence service reported about at least 30 killed among Russian armed forces over the last day;

 

(6) 2 Ukrainian servicemen killed in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last day, and 5 Ukrainian servicemen were WIA.
