The Security Service of Ukraine struck 41 strategic aviation aircraft at four airfields deep inside Russian territory — Malyuk

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) struck 41 Russian strategic aviation aircraft at four military airfields deep inside Russian territory.

As reported by Ukrinform, citing the SBU, this was announced by the head of the security service, Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk.

The Security Service of Ukraine conducted an unprecedented and unique special operation involving the simultaneous strike on four military airfields deep within Russian territory.

According to Malyuk, the drone strikes destroyed 41 aircraft, including A-50, Tu-95, Tu-22M3, and Tu-160 models.

“Destroying enemy bombers is the mission set before us by the President of Ukraine, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He personally supervised the special operation, which was prepared by the Security Service of Ukraine. The enemy bombed our country almost every night with these planes, but today they have truly felt that ‘retribution is inevitable.’ The SBU is doing and will continue to do everything possible to protect Ukraine and stop Russian attacks,” Malyuk emphasized.

The head of the SBU led the working team that prepared the “Spider web” special operation for over a year and a half.

As a result, SBU drones struck targets simultaneously at four Russian military airfields — Belaya, Dyagilevo, Olenya, and Ivanovo — and thanks to the operation’s design, managed to hit the largest number of enemy aircraft at once.

“In total, this represents damage to 34% of the strategic cruise missile carriers at Russia’s main base airfields. This was not just a devastating blow to enemy aviation but a serious slap to the power and terrorist nature of the Russian Federation,” emphasized Malyuk.

The estimated value of the destroyed enemy strategic aviation exceeds 7 billion US dollars.

According to the head of the SBU, the “Spider web” special operation took place simultaneously across three time zones and was extremely complex from a logistical standpoint.

Yes, initially the SBU transported FPV drones into Russia, followed by mobile wooden houses. Once on Russian territory, the drones were concealed under the roofs of these houses, which were loaded onto trucks. At the right moment, the roofs were remotely opened, and the drones flew out to strike designated targets — Russian bombers.

“In accordance with the laws and customs of war, we targeted completely lawful objectives — military airfields and aviation that bomb our peaceful cities. So, from our side, a real demilitarization of the Russian Federation is taking place, as we destroy military targets. And our strikes will continue for as long as Russia terrorizes Ukrainians with missiles and Shahed drones,” said Malyuk.

He thanked all SBU officers involved in this historic special operation, emphasizing that all participants are already back in Ukraine.

“The enemy thought it could bomb Ukraine and kill Ukrainians with impunity and endlessly. But that is not the case. We will respond to Russian terror and destroy the enemy everywhere — at sea, in the air, and on land. And if necessary — we will reach them even from underground,” assured the head of the SBU.

As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the coordination center for the SBU operation “Spider web” was located directly near one of the Russian FSB offices.

The Head of State expressed his gratitude to the SBU, personally to the head of the security service Vasyl Malyuk, and to everyone involved in this operation.
