Russia uses small infantry groups to break through the border in the northern part of Sumy region

The russian forces is changing tactics. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have revealed the situation in the northern part of Sumy region.

In the northern part of Sumy region, the enemy, in addition to reconnaissance and sabotage groups (RSG), is also attempting to use small infantry units.

This was informed by the spokesperson for the operational-tactical grouping of forces (OTG) “Siversk,” Vadym Mysnyk, during a telethon broadcast.

As Mysnyk explained, the tactics of the RSG change depending on the season, but mostly, today, the focus is on combat activity — the enemy is using small infantry groups.

He added that the Defense Forces are using the full range of available weaponry against the invaders, including RSGs. According to him, the activity of sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the north is constant, but since the beginning of the year, there have been no further attempts to advance in the Chernihiv region.

“In the northern part of Sumy region, such isolated incidents occur, but our Defense Forces promptly detect them, eliminate them, and prevent the enemy from penetrating our territory. However, the actual combat activity along the border takes place in those areas and flanks where our Defense Forces are carrying out combat missions on enemy territory,” he added.

Regarding military equipment, as Mysnyk mentioned, the enemy is in a very poor situation, as such attempts are detected while still approaching the border and are destroyed.

Situation in Sumy region

As reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), the enemy has changed its tactics for using equipment along the border with Sumy region and has switched to small assault groups.

Earlier, there were reports online about a supposed mass breakthrough by Russian forces at the region’s border, but later, the Ukrainian Armed Forces debunked these rumors, confirming that the situation remains under control.
