Russia has reported an attack on the Saratov and Engels area

On the night of June 6, the Russian cities of Saratov and Engels were attacked by strike drones. Explosions and fires were reported, with a local oil refinery likely targeted.

According to UNN, citing Russian media, Rosaviatsiya, and the governor of Russia’s Saratov region, Roman Busargin, strike drones attacked Saratov and Engels overnight on June 6. Explosions were heard and fires were reported. A local oil refinery was likely hit.

“In Engels, Saratov region, explosions and a fire occurred. Local residents report a strike on one of the residential complexes,” the post said.

Russian media, citing local residents, also reported that an oil refinery (OR) was targeted.

To ensure the safety of civil aircraft operations, temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures were also introduced at Saratov Airport, according to Rosaviatsiya.

The attack was confirmed by the governor of Saratov region, Roman Busargin.

“There was information from the Ministry of Defense about a UAV threat,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, a residential apartment building was damaged.

On the evening of June 5, powerful explosions were heard near the international airport in Bryansk, Russia. The attack was likely carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
