Russia relocates Kinzhal hypersonic missile carriers to Belarus

The Information Resistance group reports that the Russian Federation has relocated two MiG-31K “Kinzhal” missile carriers to Belarus. This was stated in a message from the Telegram channel “Belarusian Hajun.”

The first aircraft entered Belarus on the evening of October 9, while the second arrived during the day on October 10. Both landed at the Machulishchy airfield.

“It is the MiG-31K fighters that can carry the hypersonic aeroballistic Kh-47M2 ‘Kinzhal’ missiles and are capable of launching them from a distance of up to 2,000 kilometers,” the message emphasizes.

It is also noted that MiG-31K fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces have not been in Belarus for the past 1.5 years, since April 6, 2023.

The relocation of Russian MiG-31K fighters to Belarus was commented on by Andrii Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

In his opinion, this may be an attempt by the Russians to safeguard the aircraft, which are now constantly at risk at Russian airfields.

“However, the possibility of provocations cannot be ruled out, as after the strike by a Russian ‘Shahed’ drone near Mozyr, where the oil refinery is located, and which accidentally became public, it became clear that Russia may be preparing a provocation against Belarus,” Kovalenko added.
