Arseniy Yatsenyuk has just resigned from his current position of the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

He stated this in a video address to the Ukrainian nation. Such step was expected as Government crisis became very tense over the last weeks.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk says he will submit the appropriate statement to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Ukrainian Parliament) on Tuesday (April 12,2016) and expect that all MPs will support his decision to resign by voting ”yes”.
He also admits, that does not plan to leave politics, as he remains the head of the 2nd largest party in Ukrainian Parliament ”Narodnuy Front [Nation Front]”.
The most expected new Prime Minister of Ukraine is Volodymyr Groysman, the President Petro Poroshenko’s candidate, who is the current Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Expected. The coalition was falling apart since last September. Radical Party finally formally left and forced his hand this last month. It needed to happen. Even Petro wanted him out.

Hopefully this stirs the pot a bit, but I worry he’s more of a scapegoat than anything, because when one looks at the current coalition there’s not much wiggle room for change.

Panama papers, a hurricane for the finance world

It looks like he’ll remain head of the 2nd largest party as well so it’s not like he’s leaving politics any time soon.
