Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of December 14, 2017
Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of December 13, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Ministry of Defence spokesman on ATO issues: EMPR highlights.
(1) Russian hybrid forces continue shelling upon Ukrainian troops positions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine with the use of forbidden by the Minsk agreements heavy weaponry; in particular, the enemy launched 30 attacks, including the use of 152-mm artillery over the last 24 hours; Ukrainian forces returned fire in 18 cases;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian proxies launched 1-hour-long attack with 152-mm artillery system in Vrubyvka; the enmey fired with forbidden 120-mm mortars 6 times in Luhanske, Popasna and Kryakivka and released 68 mines upon Ukrainian positions; to this end, the enemy launched 16 attacks on this direction over the past day; Russian occupiers fired with 82-mm mortar launchers in Luhanske, Novooleksandrivka and Popasna and released 42 mines there; the enemy’s shelling with grenade launchers, high caliber machine guns and small arms reported in Zolote, Krymaske, Luhanske and Popasna;
(3) Donetsk and Mariupol directions: Russian forces shelled with 120-mm mortar launchers upon Ukrainian troops in Vodyane; the enemy used 82-mm mortar during shelling in Avdiivka and Maryinka; in addition, Russian proxies fired with small arms and grenade launchers upon Ukrainian forces in Avdiivka, Hranitne and Kamyanka; the enemy shelled with grenade launchers and infantry weaponry upon Ukrainian positions in Maryinka, Vodyane, Pisky and Butovka mine; Russian forces fired 14 times on these directions over the last 24 hours;
(4) 1 Ukrainian serviceman was killed in action and 1 serviceman was wounded in action in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours.
