Valerii Zaluzhnyi made his first speech in London as the Ambassador to the United Kingdom

Valerii Zaluzhnyi made his first speech in London as the ambassador to the United Kingdom, urging the West to prepare for defense.

Key points from Zaluzhnyi’s speech at the Royal United Services Institute in London:

  • Currently, Ukrainians are shaping new models of 21st-century warfare. Ukraine and its partners must unite, as Kyiv is developing technologies but cannot scale them, while partners have resources but cannot test their technologies.
  • Democratic countries must protect themselves in the face of the threat of a Third World War and prepare for it. Ukraine is ready to share its knowledge and experience.
  • Wars should be avoided, “but if war does come, we must be prepared for it.” Preparedness for war also means that society must be willing to temporarily relinquish a range of freedoms.
  • New technologies will play a decisive role in defeating Russia. However, neither Ukraine nor Russia will be able to acquire these technologies independently in the near future.
