Russia threatened to block the Sea of Azov for Ukrainian ships “within minutes” by closing it for any ships other than Russian ones.
This was stated by member of the Federation Council, member of the Committee on Defense and Security of the Federation Council Franz Klintsevich, commenting on the detention of 15 ships by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for illegal calls to the ports of the occupied Crimea.
Klintsevich began threatening Ukraine with Russia’s response: “We are capable of blocking the Sea of Azov for any Ukrainian water craft literally in minutes. And I don’t exclude that such actions may follow.” According to him, in fact, Ukraine itself breaks the agreement on the Azov Sea.
On November 15, Ukraine detained 15 foreign vessels for calling at the ports of the occupied Crimea.
