Mineral agreement with the U.S.

On May 1, Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent signed an agreement on the establishment of the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund and a partnership in the field of critical minerals.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States could gain over $350 billion following the signing of the mineral agreement.

The White House noted that the signing of the mineral resources agreement with Ukraine reflects the United States’ interest in the sovereign future of the country.

At a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation on May 7, editorial amendments were made to the draft law on the ratification of the Agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the United States on the creation of the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund.
