Zelenskyy: The issue of territories will be the most difficult

The issue of territories will be the most difficult. It will be a challenge, and we will defend Ukraine to the maximum. It will be very difficult for us, – Zelenskyy.

On the evening of March 19, after a conversation with Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy spoke online with journalists. Key statements:

  • Regarding a quick ceasefire, I believe it is possible to achieve it swiftly… A ceasefire for a month or two is a window of opportunity to develop a plan and apply pressure on anyone trying to disrupt it, but it is possible to end the war.
  • Indeed, there was a question about the nuclear power plant. It concerned only the plant that is currently under temporary occupation and, as you know, is in danger because Russia controls it with weapons. The plant is not operating because Russia is illegally holding it. The question is whether we can restore this plant.
  • We discussed the security of civilian and energy infrastructure. I told Trump that it would be desirable to prepare a list of facilities that should not be targeted by Russia’s long-range weapons. This could include railways and ports. We know all the sites that Russia attacks.
  • Right now (yesterday evening), there are about 107 Shahed drones in the sky. But I understand that until an agreement is reached, until there is a document on at least a partial ceasefire, everything will continue to be launched.
