Sentsov says in his letter he is losing health “slowly but irrevocably”

Ukrainian Oleg Sentsov, convicted in Russia on fabricated charges, told his sister Natalia Kaplan that his health deteriorates slowly but irrevocably in a colony in Labitnangi where he serves his time.

“It’s a letter from Oleg, and he says hello and assures that everything is fine, although he writes that his teeth are crumbling and hair falls out; he also notes that there is a loss of health there slowly, but irrevocably,” she wrote.
Let’s remind you that the North-Caucasian District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, August of 2015, had sentenced Sentsov, who was detained in Crimea in 2014, to 20 years of a strict regime colony maximum security. The Ukrainian film director was found guilty of creating a terrorist community on the territory of the Crimean peninsula. The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation later confirmed the verdict as lawful.
Now Sentsov is serving his time in a strict regime colony maximum security in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous district, better known as “The White Bear”.
The representative of Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, Mikhail Chaplyga, said that Ukrainians Roman Sushchenko and Oleg Sentsov might be exchanged for the two Crimean deserters Alexander Baranov and Maxim Odintsov, who were sentenced for 13 and 14 years respectively by the Ukrainian Courts.
However, the representative from Ukraine in the TKG humanitarian working group that’s tasked with easing situation in Donbass, Irina Gerashchenko, has denied the rumors of the pair exchange Roman Sushchenko and Oleg Sentsov, for two Crimean deserters.
