Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  November 16, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman: EMPR highlights.



(1) Situation remains tense in the war zone in eastern Ukraine as Russian hybrid forces launched 16 attacks against Ukrainian troops over the last 24 hours; Ukraine defenders returned fire in 11 cases;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian troops used forbidden 120-mm mortar launchers during shelling in Travneve; Russian armed provocations with high caliber machine guns and small arms took place in Oleksandrivka, Troytske and Svitlodarsk;
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian occupiers used infantry weapons against Ukrainian forces; the enemy’s attacks with grenade launchers and high caliber machine guns reported in Pisky and Talakivka; Russian invaders fired with high caliber machine guns and small arms in Avdiivka and Butovka mine;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian proxies shelled with grenade launchers, high caliber machine guns, small arms, forbidden 120-mm mortars and released 2 mines, 82-mm mortars and released 3 mines in Shyrokino;
(5) No lethal ceasulties reported among Ukrainian troops, but 2 Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day.
