Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of August 24, 2017

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  August 23, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) Russian hybrid forces violated ceasefire regime 18 times in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours, including 8 times on Luhansk direction, 7 times on Donetsk direction and 3 times on Mariupol direction;

(2) Luhansk direction: the main Russian forces activities took place in Popasna district, where the enemy used mortar launcherd fire and released 15 mines upon Ukrainian troops positions; Russian shelling also reported in the settlement of Krymske;

(3) Donetsk direction: Russian troops attacks reported in Avdiivka, Butovka mine and Zaytseve;

(4) Mariupol direction: Russian occupiers shelled in Pavlopil, Lebedynske and Shyrokino using small arms;

(5) No lethal casualties reported among Ukrainian servicemen, but 1 serviceman was wounded in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine for the last 24 hours.
