Mariupol massacre: 30 killed and up to 100 wounded

January 24, 2015 at 9:25 a.m. (Kyiv time) Russian troops and terrorists shelled the ‘Skhidniy’ district in the southern Ukrainian city of Mariupol. The death toll has already reached 30 people, including children.

Today many Mariupol citizens were waken up by extensive shelling from the direction of Russian troops’ positions.

At first, it was reported about 10 killed and 46 injured including a girl of 2002 d.o.b

One more shelling took place later the day at around 13:30:

The shelling of residential areas in Mariupol during the day was extremely heavy, around 40 Russian missiles were shelled:

Despite heavy Grad shelling, citizens of Mariupol were not afraid to gather at central square to pay tribute to those who had been killed. Many citizens came with Ukrainian flags to show Mariupol is Ukraine:

To protect peaceful citizens in Mariupol, Ukrainian artillery destroyed 4 of 6 ‘Grad’ systems shelling the city, but it was reported that Russian terrorists had deployed more of them:

There were children among killed and injured as well. A 3-year-old girl, whose mother had been killed, had her leg amputated.

More than 1000 Russian terrorists were reported to accumulate near Mariupol:

Meanwhile OSCE SMM to Ukraine concluded Mariupol had been shelled from the areas controlled by Russian-backed militants:

And Ukraine’s Security Service intercepted terrorists’ conversation proving terrorists had shelled Mariupol:

Conflict reporter also prepared a report proving Russia’s guilt of Mariupol massacre:

Till the end of the day, death toll reached 30 killed, while 100 people were reported injured.

Ukrainians has long proved their unity not only in times of joy, but in moments of tragedy. Residents of many Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa, came either to central squares or to Russian consulates to pay tribute to those killed by Russian troops and terrorists:
