President Zelenskyy met with the media and held a briefing regarding recent events: the operation in the Kursk region, Putin’s statements, and further steps towards achieving peace in Ukraine.

  • The summit with Ukraine’s partner countries is becoming almost weekly. Another online meeting is possible within the next week.
  • Ukrainian forces are present in the Kursk region. “The encirclement of Ukrainian troops is a lie by Putin.”
  • “The Russian side wants to encircle Ukrainian forces in the Kursk direction, but on Ukrainian territory.” Our command knows where they plan to do this.
  • The promised 150 billion will soon be allocated to strengthen Europe’s defense capabilities, and Ukraine will have an equal approach to this.
  • At the summit, partners raised the need for a fixed security guarantee plan. The German and Turkish sides also discussed the need for a reconstruction plan.
  • Partners highly evaluated the Ukrainian negotiating group that was in Saudi Arabia. Europeans also want to form their own negotiating group.
  • Everyone is counting on allied security guarantees — from Europe, the USA, and other willing countries. Everyone also expects that there may be some form of contingent.
  • The decision regarding NATO membership should depend on NATO allies, not on Russia’s desires.
