Russian court in Donetsk, Rostov region will announce the sentence against Ukrainain pilot Nadiya Savchenko on 21 and 22 March, radiosvoboda reports.
It was said at today’s court hearing that took place this am. Nadiya Savchenko who is on dry hunger strike since 3 March was present in court. Her final word was read. She said she was not going to stop the dry hunger strike.
Later talking to the media her lawyers Mark Feygin and Nikolai Polozov reconfirmed that. Feygin said that the defense is trying to talk her out of it, but there’s no success so far. Polozov noted that Nadiya started having additional symptoms: fever and high temperature. He said she might stop the hunger strike if the Russian authorities will envisage real perspectives of returning her back to Ukraine.
Mother Maria and sister Vira were present at the court hearing. After the court presented the date when the sentence is due to be announced people started singing the Ukrainian anthem.
