Russia wants OSCE mission to operate throughout the whole Ukraine

Kremlin is interested in ensuring that the OSCE closely monitors the observance of rights of Russian-speaking population in such a spheres like education, culture, linguistic and other rights of national minorities, UNIAN reports.



Russia wants the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to monitor the observance of rights of Russian-speaking population throughout the whole Ukraine, Lavrov said at a joint press conference with the OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger in Moscow.
"Of course, we are interested in seeing the OSCE closely monitor what Kyiv is doing in context of the general mandate of the mission in Ukraine. This mandate extends to all regions of Ukraine, to all major regions and requires monitoring how the obligations of the Kyiv authorities in the sphere of education, culture, linguistic and other rights of national minorities are observed, including, of course, ethnic Russians and the Russian-speaking population of the country, - assures Mr. Lavrov.
He also asserts that Moscow is interested that OSCE will use all its possibilities for implementing the Minsk agreements to stabilize situation in Donbass.
