Ukraine war updates on February 23, 2016 by the Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues: EMPR highlights

(1) Luhansk direction: situation was calm on this direction over the last day;

(2) Donetsk direction: the enemy fired with forbidden 120-mm mortar launcher upon Ukrainian position near the village of Opytne; Russian snipers activated their activities in Pisky; the most intensive shelling took place in Novgorodske and Avdyivka;

(3) Mariupol direction: 2 mortar shelling took place in Krasnogoryvka and Gtutove; Russian sniper fired upon Ukrainian position in Maryinka;

(4) Russian intelligence informed that 4 Russian servicemen were KIA and 7 WIA in the area of Donetsk airport yesterday;

(5) No casualties reported among Ukrainian servicemen over the last day, but 2 were wounded in action.
