Ukraine war updates on March 9, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights

(1) The situation remains tense in the war zone in eastern Ukraine; Russian armed forces fired 43 times upon Ukrainian positions over the last day: 37 times on Donetsk direction and 5 times on Mariupol direction; the enemy continues fire upon Ukrainain positions with the use of arms forbidden by the Minsk agreements;

(2) Luhansk direction: Combats between Russian forces and Ukrainian troops took place between Tryokhizbenka and Krasnuy Luman; the enemy failed in attemp to seize Ukrainian obzervation post;

(3) Donetsk direction: the most tense atmosphere reported along the Svytlodarska line, near occupied Horlyvka and on Avdyivka – Opytne – Pisky front line; the enemy uased forbidden mortar launchers and armored vehicles 20 times there;

(4) Mariupol direction: Russian forces violated ceasefire regime near Maryinka, Starognatyvka and Shyrokyno; the enemy used mortars 2 times as well as snipers fire;

 

(5) No lethal casualties reported among Ukrainian servicemen in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours, but 8 Ukrainain servicemen were wounded in action.
