Ukraine war updates on March 6, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights

(1) The situation intensifies in the war zone in eastern Ukraine; Russian armed forces fired 52 times upon Ukrainian positions over the last day: 37 times on Donetsk direction, 10 times on Mariupol direction and 5 times on Luhansk direction; The worst situation reported around Avdyivka in Donetsk Oblast;

 

(2) Luhansk direction: Russian forces violated ceasefire regime 5 times in Popasny district with the use of forbidden 82-mm mortar launchers;

 

(3) Donetsk direction: situation escalated on the east and south from Avdyivka, where Russian armed forces fired on Ukrainian positions with more than 60 mines of various sizes and forbidden 122-mm self-propelled guns; the enemy fired with forbidden 82-mm mortar launchers at Ukrainian positions near Zaytseve; Russian armed provocations also took place on Svytlodarska line, Mayorsk and Donetsk airport; the enemy shelling with grenade launchers and heavy machine guns reported near Pysky, Opytne, Novozvanyvka, Luhanske and Troytske;

 

(4) Mariupol direction: the hottest spot for the last day reported in Maryinka, where Russian snipers fired upon Ukrainian checkpoint on the route Donetsk – Zaporyzhya; Ukrainian border service was forced to close checkpoint Maryinka for civilians; Russian snipers also fired upon Ukrainian forces positions in Starognatyvka; ceasefire regime was violated in Shyrokyno;

 

(5) 2 Ukrainian servicemen killed in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours.
