Russia launched missile and Shahed drone attacks on Kharkiv overnight, causing large fires to break out

On the night of June 4, Russian forces launched a combined missile and drone attacks on Kharkiv.

Kharkiv authorities report that four fires broke out in the Novobavarsky district of the city following the Russian missile strike and drone raid, with one person injured, BBC News reports.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the regional administration, wrote on his Telegram channel that a fire initially broke out at a civilian enterprise after the missile strike, damaging a single-story industrial building. A 30-year-old man was injured.

Subsequently, after drone impacts, a private house and a car service station caught fire. The fire spread over an area of 200 square meters.

The Kharkiv branch of the publication “Suspilne” reports that a warehouse containing car tires is burning, causing thick black smoke to cover the sky over the city’s northwest part.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov shared on his Telegram channel that the attack lasted one and a half hours – from 02:29 to 03:57.

Russian forces used two missiles and nine Shahed drones. One drone failed to explode, while the rest hit their targets.

According to Terekhov, the strikes targeted civilian infrastructure, businesses, residential buildings, and a park. Hits were recorded at seven different locations.

As a result of the attack, two civilian enterprises were damaged, a private house, a garage, and an outbuilding were burned, and seven nearby homes were also affected.

Doctors have stabilized the condition of the injured man, the city mayor reported.

One of the drones used by Russia to attack Kharkiv overnight fell in a park in the Novobavarsky district and did not explode, the State Emergency Service told Suspilne.

The drone carried a warhead weighing 50 kg. Police explosives experts and emergency service personnel safely defused the Russian drone. No one was injured.

Odessa was also targeted by Russian drones overnight.

Around midnight, explosions were heard in the city, reported Suspilne. Later, local media reported repeated explosions in the city.

According to the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, air defense forces shot down most of the targets, but there is damage to civilian infrastructure in the city, including residential buildings and a car service station.

One person was injured in the leg. Nine people sought psychological support.

In the Sumy region, rescuers extinguished a large-scale fire. Russian drones launched a series of strikes on an enterprise in the Lebedyn community, causing significant destruction and fires, reports the State Emergency Service (DSNS).

In addition to the enterprise buildings, about 10 private houses were damaged.
