The first satellite image confirming damage to aircraft at the “Belaya” airbase (Irkutsk region) has appeared online, showing Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 bombers affected.

According to Censor.NET, OSINT analyst Chris Biggers published the image on his page on the X platform.

The photo shows that at least four aircraft stationed at the airbase during the attack were damaged.

Specifically:

  • 3 Tu-95MS strategic bombers were hit;
  • 1 Tu-22M3 aircraft was hit.

One more Tu-95MS aircraft, as shown in the image, was likely also damaged during the attack.

“Today, Ukrainian intelligence launched 117 strike drones from trucks positioned near Russian airbases. This morning, I tasked several collectors via @umbraspace, and my first images have already begun processing. What a tremendous success in a well-executed operation,” Biggers noted.

According to Censor.NET sources, on June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out a special operation called “Spiderweb,” launching a massive drone strike on Russian strategic aviation airfields.

The airfields targeted in the attack included Olenya, Belaya, Dyagilevo, and Ivanovo. A total of 41 Russian aircraft were hit — among them A-50 early warning planes, as well as Tu-95 and Tu-22M3 bombers.

Later, the SBU clarified that the estimated value of the damaged Russian strategic aviation assets in today’s “Spiderweb” operation amounted to $7 billion USD.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky received a briefing from SBU Head Vasyl Maliuk regarding the operation.
