Ukraine comes in focus in a global security talk at the two-day international forum in Kyiv on 28-29 May. Kyiv Security Forum is an annual event organized by Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s “Open Ukraine” Fund held since 2007.

This year discussions in 6 main sessions and a row of collateral events will be centered around the topic of values as the leading motive for foreign policy. Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and its implications for regional and global security is a topic that echoes to smaller or bigger extent in each panel.

Other themes that the domestic and international experts and politicians will debate at the Kyiv Security Forum include Ukraine’s reforms, Ukraine-EU relations, Ukraine’s NATO membership prospective as well as U.S. role in global security and Russia’s democratization.

Both Ukraine’s President Poroshenko and Prime Minister Yatsenyuk are set to attend the opening part of the event. Ministers of Foreign Affairs Klimkin and of Finance Jaresko are listed among the speakers. International line-up of speakers is to include acting and former politicians – members of domestic parliaments, European Parliament, US Department of State as well as NATO Deputy Secretary General Vershbow and Lithuania’s President Grybauskaite both in a video address. Another part of international pool of experts is formed by academicians and think-tanks representatives.
