Cultural heritage of Ukraine and its state in war conditions to be discuss in PACE

In March, the PACE is scheduled to hold hearings on the cultural heritage of Ukraine and its state in war conditions, – Head of the PACE Committee on Culture, Science, Media and Sports Yevheniya Kravchuk says.

▪The hearings will concern not only destroyed buildings and looted museums, but also the destruction of cultural identity of Ukrainians.

▪In the temporarily occupied territories, the invaders change curricula, seize and burn Ukrainian literature, etc. Russia is doing all this to destroy the cultural identity of Ukrainians.

▪Therefore, a corresponding draft of the PACE resolution on the destruction of the cultural identity of Ukrainians during the war is currently being prepared.

▪The law on electronic registers is being developed so that intangible and tangible heritage can be seen, in particular, monuments and museum exhibits. Everything will be digitized. The EU allocated funds for the creation of such a register.
