Ukraine survived 13 hours duration russian drones attack

67 russian attack drones and 1 guided aviation missile were broken down over Ukraine during 13 hours last night.


On the night of September 30, 2024 (from 19 p.m. on September 29 to 08 p.m. on September 30), the russian forces attacked Ukraine with missiles of various types and attack drones. A total of 76 means of air attack of the enemy were detected and escorted by the radio engineering troops of the Air Force:

  • 1 “Iskander-M” ballistic missile from the occupied Crimea;
  • 1 Kh-59/69 guided air missile from the airspace of the TOT of the Zaporizhia region;
  • 1 Kh-31P anti-radar missile from the airspace over the Black Sea;
  • 73 strike UAVs of the “Shahed” type from the Kursk, Yeisk, Orel regions – russian federation.

The air attack was repulsed by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As a result of anti-aircraft combat, one Kh-59/69 guided air missile and 67 enemy attack UAVs of the “Shahed” type were shot down in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions.

One drone flew in the direction of Belarus, three more were lost in location in the northern regions of Ukraine as a result of countermeasures. The last drone remained in the airspace of Ukraine for several more hours but was intercepted.

On the night of September 30, the Russian Federation attacked the Ukrainian capital with Shahed drones in several waves. All the drones were shot down.


This was announced by the head of the Kyiv Military Administrstion, Serhiy Popko.

The air alert in the capital lasted more than 5 hours. According to preliminary information, there were no damages or casualties in the capital.

Air defense forces neutralized all Russian attack drones that threatened Kyiv, Popko noted.

The mayor of the capital, Vitaliy Klitschko, announced in the morning that in the Obolon district, the wreckage of an anti-aircraft missile was found near a residential building.
