The Ukrainian delegation has arrived in Istanbul for negotiations

According to Slovo i Dilo, the Ukrainian delegation, led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, has arrived in Istanbul for negotiations with the Russian side.

This was reported to Suspilne by Heorhii Tykhyi, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He said the meeting with the Russian delegation is scheduled for the afternoon. According to Anadolu, the talks will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Çırağan Palace in Istanbul.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky changed the composition of the Ukrainian delegation. Fourteen people will participate in the negotiations.

Recall that Reuters reported Ukraine intends to present Russia with a clear roadmap for achieving a sustainable peaceful settlement during today’s negotiations. The plan includes, among other things, a complete ceasefire lasting at least 30 days.

At the same time, as President Zelensky stated, Ukraine has no information about Russia’s negotiating position.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs suggested that Russia’s refusal to hand over a memorandum likely indicates it contains unrealistic ultimatums.
