On the evening of August 6, the Russian army launched strike drones over Ukrainian territory. In the Khmelnytskyi region, a production facility was damaged, and air defense systems were activated in the Kyiv region.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At 23:04, the military reported the movement of strike UAVs through the Kherson region towards the Mykolaiv region.
An hour later, the situation was as follows:
- From Mykolaiv region, the drones were moving towards Odesa region;
- In a western direction, towards Kirovohrad region;
- A group of “Shahed” drones in Dnipropetrovsk region;
Several groups of drones were also moving towards Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions.
At 01:05, UAV movement was detected through Kharkiv region towards Poltava region, and from Cherkasy region towards Kyiv region.
Drones from Vinnytsia region headed towards Khmelnytskyi region.
An explosion was heard in Khmelnytskyi at 02:31, reported “Suspilne.” A few minutes later, more explosions were heard in the city.
The Air Force stated that several “Shahed” drones in Ternopil region set course for Lviv region.
As of 03:17, the movement of strike UAVs was as follows:
- UAVs in Cherkasy region were moving westward;
- From Vinnytsia region, they were heading west;
- In Ternopil region, “Shahed” drones were flying eastward.
At 03:33, “Suspilne” reported that explosions were again heard in Khmelnytskyi region.
The Air Force stated that as of 04:55, the last “Shahed” drones remained in Cherkasy region. By around 9 a.m., the Air Force declared that the threat from strike drones had been cleared.
Situation in Kyiv Region
The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported around 7 a.m. that enemy drones had been detected in the region. They also mentioned the activation of air defense systems. The administration urged people not to photograph or film the activities of Ukrainian defenders and to stay in shelters until the air alert was over.
Consequences in Khmelnytskyi Region
Head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, Serhii Tiuryn, stated in the morning that due to falling debris, storage tanks and workshop premises of a production facility in the region were damaged. No injuries were reported as a result of the attack.
- On Tuesday, August 6, the Russian army struck the central district of Kharkiv, resulting in one person killed and 12 others injured.
