Ukrainian south city of Kherson state plant “Pallada”, a part of the State Concern “Ukroboronprom”, launched the newest composite autonomous floating dock, knk.media reports.

Kherson state plant “Pallada”, a part of the State Concern “Ukroboronprom”, launched the newest composite autonomous floating dock with the carrying capacity of 7100 tons. This was reported by KNK Media with reference to the website of “Ukroboronprom”.
After launching the specialists of the Pallada plant will conduct the entire test cycle of the dock, after which it will be certified by the American Bureau of Shipping, which will be the first case in the history of shipbuilding in Ukraine and the activities of the Bureau. And in the near future the dock will be ready to be handed over to the customer — “Multimarine Shipyards Ltd”, which plans to operate the dock in the port of Cyprus Limassol.
The length of the dock deck is 120 meters. The depth of the dock dive is 12.2 meters. The hull is made of special heavy marine shipbuilding concrete, and the towers are made of shipbuilding steel. This combination of materials will allow owners of the dock to reduce operating costs by 2-2.5 times compared to similar steel docks.
It is reported that it took Kherson shipbuilders a bit more than one year to create the dock – it was laid down in September 2016.
