Ukraine elections 2019: candidates for the presidency

The first stage of the presidential election campaign in Ukraine is well under way – presidential candidates file their documents with the Central Election Commission. Let’s look through a full list of those who go to the elections as of today.




Candidates for the presidency can file their documents with the Central Election Commission by February 3, and the registration is to end on February 8. So, Ukrainians will know the final list of presidential candidates on February 9.

The first round of voting will be held on March 31. Official results of the first round must be announced by April 10. If a decision to hold the second round is taken, it will be held on April 21.

Ihor Shevchenko

Self-nominated, non-party. 48 years old, lawyer, former minister of ecology. President of the charitable organization “Successful Ukraine”.

Vitaliy Skotsyk

Self-nominated, non-party. 47 years old, economist, ex-chairman of the Agrarian Party of Ukraine. Professor of horse breeding and beekeeping at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.

Andriy Sadovyi

Candidate for the Samopomich party. 50 years old, mayor of Lviv, leader of the Samopomich party.




Valentyn Nalyvaychenko

Candidate for the party “Valentyn Nalyvaychenko’s Public Political Movement Justice.” 52 years old, former head of the SBU, leader of the Justice party.

Serhiy Kaplin

Candidate for the Social Democratic Party. 39 years old, People’s Deputy of Ukraine.

Yevhen Murayev

Candidate for the Nashi party, former member of the Party of Regions and the ex-chairman of the political council of the party “For Life!” 42 years old, People’s Deputy of Ukraine.

Anatoliy Hrytsenko

Candidate for the Civil Position party. 61 years old, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science at the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”, former Minister of Defense of Ukraine (2005-2007).

Volodymyr Zelensky

Vitaliy Kupriy

Self-nominated, non-party. 45 years old, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legislative Support to Law Enforcement.

Olha Bohomolets

Self-nominated. 51 years old, People’s Deputy of Ukraine from the party “Petro Poroshenko Bloc”, head of the Parliamentary Committee on Health Care. The politician is also an Honored Doctor of Ukraine and a singer.

Gennadiy Balashov

Candidate for the 5.10 party. 57 years old. Ukrainian entrepreneur, blogger, politician and public figure, leader of the 5.10 party.

Oleksandr Shevchenko

Candidate for the UKROP party. 47 years old, non-factional People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation.

Roman Nasirov

Self-nominated. 39 years old, ex-People’s Deputy, since May 2015 – Head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine. In January 2018, the Cabinet dismissed him from this position, but Nasirov appealed this decision in court.

Yuriy Boyko

Self-nominated. 60 years old. People’s Deputy of Ukraine, member of the Opposition Bloc party. His candidacy is supported by the political party “Opposition Platform – For Life”. Former Minister of Energy and Coal Industry (2010-2012) and Vice Prime Minister (2012-2014).

Yulia Tymoshenko

Candidate for the Batkivshchyna party. 58 years old. People’s Deputy of Ukraine since 1997. She was the prime minister of Ukraine in 2005 and 2007-2010. Runs for the presidency for the third time.

Oleh Lyashko

Candidate for the Radical Party. 46 years old. Ukrainian politician, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, former journalist. Leader of the Radical Party.

Oleksandr Vilkul

Candidate for the party “Opposition bloc – party of peace and development”, 44 years old. Ukrainian politician, member of the Opposition Bloc party (formerly Party of Regions).

Dmytro Dobrodomov

Candidate for the People’s Control party. 42 years old. Non-factional People’s Deputy, leader of the People’s Control party, journalist, media manager.

Arkady Kornatsky

Self-nominated, 65 years old. People’s Deputy (faction “Petro Poroshenko Bloc”). Ukrainian politician and entrepreneur.

Oleksandr Moroz

Candidate for the Socialist Party. 74 years old. Ukrainian politician and public figure. He was chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in 1994-1998 and 2006-2007.

Illia Kyva

Candidate for the Socialist Party of Ukraine. 41 years old. He was advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Head of the Department for Combating Drug-Related Crime at the National Police of Ukraine. Leader of the Socialist Party of Ukraine.
