In October, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski announced the withdrawal of Poland’s permission for the operation of the Russian consulate general in Poznań. On Saturday, journalists asked him when the Russian representatives would vacate the premises and how he viewed the idea of housing a Ukrainian diplomatic mission there.
“The lease for this building ends at the end of this month, so we’re looking at just a few more days. Given the unprecedented increase in the number of Ukrainian citizens in Poland, the current network of Ukrainian consulates does not meet their consular needs. We would certainly view such a request from the Ukrainian side with great sympathy,” Sikorski stated.
