NSC news & analysis center briefing at 12:30 May 26, 2015: highlights

News & Analysis Center of the National Security Council of Ukraine presents the latest updates from the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine on May 26, 2015 at its daily briefing.

(1) Shelling continues at Mariupol direction, the enemy shelled the town of Shyrokyne with 122 mm. mortars;

(2) Donetsk airport area and Horlyvka are also under the enemy’s fire;

(3) In general, situation was calm in the front line yesterday;

(4) Luhansk direction – the village of Schastya and the town of Pervomaisk were shelled by firearms. An ambulance car got under militant’s fire near the village of Syze. In addition, Ukrainian armed forces position were shelled by militant from tanks;

(5) Over the last 24 hours 9 enemy’s UAVs were spotted over the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine;

(6) 1 Ukrainian soldier has killed and 12 got wounded over the last 24 hours;

(7) Most human casualties incurred near the town of Pervomaysk;

(8) Yesterday militants used 45 mines to destroy the local factory in Avdyyvka. The factory was under fire, occurred Amon leakage and 1 death of civilian;

(9) Ukrainian servicemen got under militants’s fire near the town of Volnovakha. No casualties;

(10) Ukrainian SBU uncovered the group of people, who collected money from civilians for DPR militants;

(11) Arms trader from Zhyromyr Oblast was detained. Reportedly he is the founder of Russian Neo-Nazi organization ‘Legion Werewolf’;

(12) One more miitants’ supporter was detained in the village of Podeda, Novoaydar Rayon, Luhansk Oblast. Ukrainian police confiscated grenades, mines and 5 ‘Uragan’ missiles;

(13) Russians build the fortifications along its border aiming not let the Russian militants passed the border to the Russian Federation. About 40K soldiers of Russian regular army gathered near the border.
