NSC news & analysis center briefing at 12:30 February 08, 2016: highlights

News & Analysis Center of the National Security Council of Ukraine presents the latest updates from the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine on February 8, 2016 at its daily briefing.

 

(1) Luhansk direction: situation remains calm on this direction; ceasefire regime fulfilled over the last several days;

 

(2) Donetsk direction: warfare continues in the outskirts of Horlivka and near Donetsk airport – on Svitlodarska line; several times heavy arms were used by the enemy towards Ukrainian armed forces positions;

 

(4) Mariupol direction: the enemy concentrated activities around Maryinka and Krasnohorivka; Ukrainian positions came under mortars’s fire 5 times over the last 24 hours; series of armed provocation took place in the village of Starognativka and Granytne; in addition, number of Russian UAVs over the Mariupol direction rapidly increased  to 11 over the last 24 hours;

 

(5) No casualties among Ukrainian armed forces over the last day, 1 Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in action.
