Olena Duma’s appointment as the ARMA head is a favorable narrative to Russian agents on the eve of the NATO summit.
According to Vitaliy Shabunin, chairman of the board of the Anti–Corruption Action Center, Olena Duma’s victory in the contest for the position of the head of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (АRМА) is very beneficial to Russian agents, in particular in the USA, on the eve of the NATO summit.
“Now we are on the eve of the historic NATO summit, the decision of which primarily depends on US President Joe Biden. Olena Duma took part in discrediting him, she complained about how corrupt Ukraine is and publicly helped Giuliani’s right-hand man Kislin to slander Joe Biden.Then this narrative was disseminated in the American media.
This appointment is a “golden card” on the eve of the Alliance summit. If I were in russians’ shoes, I would be working with the American elite right now, saying that we behave inappropriately toward NATO and spit in the face of those who have been helping Ukraine in the war. It is very beneficial for Russian agents to promote this narrative on the eve of the summit,” Shabunin said on the air of Hromadske Radio.
We will remind you that Ukraine’s ARMA agency is in charge of thousands of seized Russian assets, therefore the position of its head is extremely important.
Almost all seized Russian and Belarusian assets are transferred to ARMA. The new head must ensure that thousands of seized assets do not disappear, do not depreciate and, after confiscation, are recovered to the state budget.
