Ukraine war updates on February 29, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights

(1) Russian forces fired upon Ukrainian forces position 71 times over the last 24 hours; 36 shelling reported on Donetsk, 22 on Mariupol and 13 on Luhansk direction;

(2) Luhansk direction: Russian armed forces radiply intensify their activities in this direction over the last day; 6 mortar shelling upon Ukrainian forces positions reported in Popasnuy district; the enemy also used smal arms and grenade launchers there;

(3) Donetsk direction: the enemy continues to violate ceasefire regime in Avdyivka, Pisky, Krasnogoryvka with the use of heavy arms: mortars and APCs and episodic use of sniper’s fire;

(4) Mariupol direction: extremely tense atmosphere reported on thios direction; active combats reported all across the Krasnogoryvka – Maryinka and Hnytove – Talakyvka lines; the enemy used forbidden 82-mm and 120-mm mortars fire during 15 hours;

(5) Russian UAV was spotted over the peacefull village of Kulykyvske in Zaporyzhya Oblast, which is not the war zone;

(6) No casualties reported among Ukrainian servicemen over the last day, no KIa as well as no WIA.
