Every year thousands of people arrive to the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada, in the United States, to become part of the magnificent Burning Man art event.
This time, Ukraine, being one of the headliners, will share its LOVE there.
This is the first time Ukraine participates in the famous US festival and will be represented by LOVE art-project created by Alexander Milov from Odessa. Huge 1750x770x500cm sculpture demonstrates a conflict between a man and a woman as well as the outer and inner expression of human nature.
“My concept is Love”, Alexander Milov says. “Figures of woman and man seat with their backs to each other, symbolizing human insults and relations, but at the same time they support each other with their backs. These are the cages, which we drive ourselves into as we become older. The woman is in fetal position, meaning that all her worries are in her soul and heart. The man rests his head on his hands, showing that his worries are determined by his thoughts”.
Made of metal tubes, figures of a woman and a man remind cages, where two children are caught.
“There are children inside of the adults”, Alexander describes his idea. “They are caught in cages, but try to reach out to each other. The figures of children glow at night – a symbol that we can make up when the dark time, night, arrives.”
The Burning Man 2015 takes place August 30 – September 7, 2015. After the event, Ukrainian team plans to travel around US cities to present their art-project.
