NSC news & analysis center briefing at 12:30 June 22, 2015: highlights

News & Analysis Center of the National Security Council of Ukraine presents the latest updates from the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine on June 22, 2015 at its daily briefing.

(1) Mariupol direction: situation remains tense, in the area of Mariupol and Berdyansk. The enemy used forbidden 122-mm self-propelled howitzers; 

(2) Donetsk direction: active comabats continued in the area of Donetsk airport round-the-clock. Intensification of shelling was spotted in Donetsk airport, Spartak and Sokylnyky districts in Donetsk;

(3) Dynamic of militants’s shelling in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine in recent days is as follow: 28 times (June 16), 37 times (June 17), 41 times (June 18), 45 times (June 19), and 53 times (June 20);

(4) Militants fired around the whole perimeter of the town of Horlivka yesterday;

(5) Luhansk direction: combats continued in the area of Bakhmutska route (between Novotashyvka and Sokilnyky). Militansts fired Stanytska Luhanska with mortars;

(6) Militansts blasted the bridge in the village of Troytske;

(7) Over the last 24 hours 8 enemy’s UAV’s were spotted over the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine, anf 1 more over the peaceful territory near south town of Berdyansk;

(8) 2 Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 3 wounded over the last 24 hours;

(9) 270 Ukrainians (among them 70 civilians) remain captives by pro-Russian militants.
