Fairy tales about a quick peace are dangerous misinformation

Fairy tales about a quick peace are dangerous misinformation

I see that some of our media figures, both here and abroad, continue to spread demotivating information about the cessation of hostilities as early as this spring or summer. I’m just curious, what sources of information do they have that ignore the obvious reality?

Yes, D. Trump continues to cautiously mention some progress in negotiations with Russia and that Putin supposedly wants to stop the bloodshed. Well, well, a serial sadist and cannibal claims he’s a vegetarian and dreams of cauliflower…

At the same time, it’s known that this isn’t about direct talks between Trump and Putin, but about discussions between representatives of the teams. Such unproductive consultations were already happening back during J. Biden’s presidency. The Kremlin leader continues to insist on his own terms—a peace without security guarantees, which will inevitably lead to the destruction of Ukraine in the long term.

Trump managed to quickly settle matters with Panama, Canada, and Mexico because they are geographically and economically too close to the United States. But further international relations got stuck, even with Greenland, because it’s Europe. And in order to prevent the Democrats from mocking, it was necessary to hit his own — USAID and CIA.

As it turned out, Europe is not easily swayed by calls to unconditionally align with the impulsive policies of the new White House administration. And they’re not too afraid of threats regarding tariffs and the like, because Europe has the option to start its own game with China. And then the US will clearly be at a disadvantage.

Europe is the long-time natural ally of the States. And what can we say about modern Russia, which has long crossed the line of common sense and operates according to the principle of its cult prophet Dostoevsky: “I see that I’m heading towards the abyss, and therefore I speed up because God loves the blessed.”

As long as the aggressor’s army continues to advance, albeit slowly, Putin will buy time, talk about his humanitarian efforts, the next Yalta, new physical principles, and other nonsense. The situation on the front will decide everything; I am tired of repeating this. And right now, it’s generally not in our favor.
For the front to stabilize, the Armed Forces of Ukraine need a large number of motivated, armed, and trained fighters. And this is not a matter of weeks. It will take months, even if we immediately change the disgraceful and ineffective system of replenishing the army and the inadequate training of the mobilized.
