Ukraine counter offensive: official digest. June 20, 2023

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct Ukraine counter offensive operation, with the following success for the past day, June 20, 2023.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct both defensive and offensive operations. Where we are defending – not a single position has been lost.

Offensive actions continue in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, namely: during the past day, in the Novodarivka – Pryyutne, Makarivka – Rivnopil and Novodanilivka – Robotine directions, the Ukrainian military had partial success, and they are entrenched at the achieved boundaries.

The enemy concentrated the main efforts on conducting defense and preventing the advance of our troops, using reserves, trying to restore the lost position.

In the south, the offensive continues in several sectors according to the plan established by the military. Our troops have managed to advance there. But the enemy isn’t giving up. Therefore fierce battles and a very powerful duel continue.

According to some information, the enemy mines fields and even the populated areas in the Zaporizhzhia region without warning to the local population.

We are advancing gradually, with small steps, but very confidently. We have to claw and scrape for every meter of land.

In the south, battles are being waged in the areas where Ukrainian soldiers are advancing, and the enemy is on the defensive.

However, there are areas where, on the contrary, the enemy is advancing, and we are on the defensive. For example, in the Kupiansk and Lymansk sectors.

It is incorrect to evaluate the effectiveness of military actions solely by kilometers or the number of liberated settlements.

Because there are a lot of evaluation criteria. There is a complex of evaluations, and many tasks are set before the military.

It is clear that people want it to be like in a fast-motion mode movie: at 13:00 p.m. the movie started, in an hour it was over and it was clear what had happened.

But in reality it is not so. We will advance gradually, with difficulties, facing the furious resistance from the enemy.

We must understand that the military perform the tasks set before them, and our gradual advance is taking place in all areas where the offensive has begun.

But, of course, the major attack is yet to come.
