Ukraine counter offensive: official digest. June 16, 2023

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct Ukraine counter offensive operation, with the following success for the past day.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct both offensive and defensive operations with partial success, – the MoD deputy head Hanna Maliar says.

Our troops are operating in the conditions of the enemy’s air and artillery superiority.

In the areas where we are on the defense, no positions have been lost and the enemy has not been able to advance.

In the east, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting both defensive and counteroffensive operations. Here, the enemy is trying to force our troops out of their positions, conducting assault operations in several directions at once, including in the Liman sector.

In the Bakhmut sector, the overall intensity of hostilities has slightly decreased. Our troops are conducting offensive operations in certain areas, occupying the commanding heights and forest belts in order to gradually drive the enemy from the approaches to Bakhmut. The enemy is making every effort to stop the offensive of our defense forces.

In the east, the enemy now holds a significant number of forces, which it continues to build up, redeploying additional units from other areas to the Bakhmut sector.

In the south, our troops are conducting active offensive operations in several areas at once.

In almost all areas and directions where our units are advancing in the south, they are achieving tactical success.

They are gradually advancing. As of now, they have advanced up to two kilometers in each area.

The process of consolidating our troops in some of the liberated positions and settlements continues.

In the Berdiansk and Mariupol sectors, the enemy is pulling troops from other areas and increasing its firepower. In addition, our troops face the heavy mining of fields.
