Ukraine counter offensive: official digest. June 15, 2023

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct Ukraine counter offensive operation, with the following success for the past day.

The Armed Forces continue their counter offensive operations in the Berdyansk and Bakhmut directions.

This was stated by the spokesman of the General Staff Andriy Kovalev.

Currently, fighting continues in the Berdyansk direction in the area of the village of Makarivka and in the areas of the villages of Novodanilivka and Novopokrovka of Zaporizhzhya region.

“In the direction of Bakhmut, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted assault operations in the direction of Rozdolivka – Krasnopolivka and Berkhivka – Yagidne, and were successful,” said Andriy Kovalev.

As of now, offensive and defensive operations are ongoing in various directions, the MoD deputy head Hanna Maliar reported this evening.

In the east, the enemy continues to concentrate a significant amount of forces and resources and pulls up reserves from other directions. In particular, an enemy unit of amphibious assault troops was moved from the south to the east.

In the Bakhmut direction, offensive actions continue in the directions of Rozdolivka – Krasnopolivka and Brekhivka – Yagidne, there is success.

Offensive actions continue in the Berdnyansk and Mariupol directions. There is progress in all directions of attack. About a kilometer on each.

In the Berdyansk direction, fighting continues in the areas of Makarivka.

In the Mariupol direction, fighting continues in the Novodanilivka and Novopokrovka districts.

Over the course of the day, the enemy increased the number of missile and air strikes and artillery and mortar attacks.

Our troops are dealing with strong enemy resistance and their superiority in numbers of men and weapons. The enemy is trying with all his might to prevent the advance of our troops. At the same time, the offensive continues in several directions, our defenders are gradually but surely moving forward and inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

During the day, the Ukrainian defenders did not lose a single position.

The defense forces of Ukraine liberated 7 (!) settlements in the Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Brigadier General Oleksiy Gromov, deputy head of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff, announced this during a briefing at the Military Media Center.

According to him, Ukrainian troops have advanced up to 3 km in the direction of Melitopol. 22 square meters were taken under control and the village of Lobkove was liberated.

In the Berdyansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers liberated the following 6 settlements: Levadne, Novodarivka, Neskuchne, Storozhove, Makarivka, Bilogorivka. Control was restored over 81 square meters.
