The government continues to complicate life for Ukrainians abroad

Ukraine’s Ambassador to Estonia, Maksym Kononenko, believes that Tallinn should not issue residence permits to Ukrainian men, even if they have an expired passport. According to “European Pravda,” he stated this in a comment to ERR.

However, Estonia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that as long as a person does not break the law, there is no reason to revoke their right to live in the country.

“A residence permit is related to the person, not the passport. If a person has the right to live in Estonia, they can extend their residence permit,” Janek Mägi, Head of the Migration Policy Department at the Estonian Ministry of Internal Affairs, explained.

Moldova’s Prime Minister, Dorin Recean, also confirmed that Ukraine frequently requests the return of Ukrainian men from various countries.

“Ukraine has these requests for all countries where Ukrainians are present. Like everyone else, we adhere to international rules and human rights. We will act in accordance with the laws that exist in international law,» Moldova’s Prime Minister stated.
