Shifting alliances and new threats: the battle for Ukraine’s future
Statements by witkoff (hereinafter, I will write his surname in lowercase) are essentially the announcement of U.S. plans.
Forcing a “voluntary” capitulation in exchange for a postponed war by a few years.
Forcing a mandatory change to the Constitution and constitutional order.
Holding elections during the war, which will later be used by russia as a pretext to declare the Ukrainian government illegitimate and launch a new war, where they plan to seize the entire country.
That’s all the new U.S. policy really means.
See the irony? Right now, russia is emphasizing the supposed illegitimacy of the Ukrainian government, and if elections are held, they will say the same thing after some time. Because elections are not held during wartime. And they know this perfectly well.
This is nothing more than a legal trap.
And this position has obviously been coordinated between russia and the U.S. And the U.S. will push it forward.
We refused to surrender voluntarily, so we should soon expect another blockade of aid and intelligence sharing. Possibly even disruptions in Starlink operations.
Now, the U.S., together with russia, will try to dismantle our country from within.
Please, do not call the U.S. an ally or a partner.
Experts in “proper communication with Trump,” how are you doing? Maybe you’ll finally realize that the format and content of our communication with the U.S.—or Canada, Denmark, or Mexico—simply make no sense?
Because the U.S. is actively dismantling the global security system and could even become an aggressor itself.
What should we do about all this? Supporting the front is priority #1 for every one of us. That’s obvious.
At the diplomatic level, we need to find common ground with Italy somehow because you can see for yourself how Meloni’s rhetoric has changed since 20.01.25.
Her statements about “Article 5” make no sense—they’re pure populism. Don’t forget that her party is an ultraright populist one.
And Meloni is actually more dangerous for us than someone like Orbán or Fico.
This is something that needs to be addressed, because delaying or assuming that Meloni’s Euroskepticism will simply fade away on its own would be a mistake.
The first warning signs are already here—Meloni blocked the allocation of €40 billion in military aid to Ukraine.
Dealing with Europe won’t be easy. But unlike with the U.S., here we must fight, and there is something worth fighting for!
