Modern Nazism. Encouraged by the West

The Russian modern nazism leadership’s demands for the Ukrainian people are straightforward: they must relinquish their sovereignty, submit to Russian control, and accept the notion that Russians and Ukrainians are one nation, effectively erasing their Ukrainian identity.

Ukrainian culture, customs, and language must be forgotten. To achieve these goals, an open genocide of the Ukrainian people is being carried out, practically violating every provision of the UN Genocide Convention adopted in 1946.

The UN, as an organization that has shown its inability to make important decisions, naturally fails to take any significant action.

There are countries that have undertaken obligations to protect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. But what are they doing while Ukraine is bleeding?

Some countries involved in the deal to transfer nuclear weapons from Ukraine to the Russian Federation now openly attack the state they are bound to protect according to that very agreement.

Other countries, considered civilized, do everything to avoid getting directly involved in the war, while they provide some weapons assistance.

It is evident that this aid is insufficient for liberating Ukrainian territories; the supplied weapons are limited in scope: they lack aircraft, long-range missiles, and cluster munitions that could effectively penetrate enemy defenses.

As for the aircraft, the response from Ukraine’s allies is that they will be supplied AFTER the current counteroffensive is completed.  Curiously, the response from allies regarding aircraft supply is conditional, suggesting that planes will only be provided after the exhaustion of Ukrainian forces and  equipment.

If this strategy is not about destroying as many Ukrainian soldiers as possible, what is it about?

Furthermore, the stipulation that the western weapons cannot be used on Russian territory adds an intriguing dimension to the situation.

It portrays a scenario where one nation oppresses another, while Ukraine’s allies indirectly reinforce Russian impunity by prohibiting strikes on their territory.

These conditions only serve to embolden Russian confidence in their own invincibility and sanctity. One may ponder whether the delays in providing necessary weaponry and the prohibition on striking Russian territories could be construed as complicity in the ongoing genocide against the Ukrainian people.

Last night, another rocket attack in Lviv. Once again, a residential building is hit. This familiar taking of Ukrainian lives serves as a tragic reminder of the dire consequences Ukrainians face on a regular basis.

Russians dismissively ridicule the Ukrainian plight, as they watch smoke rise from the chimney of this modern Auschwitz, cynically attributing it to a choice of the “wrong side.”

They argue that Ukrainians should have aligned themselves with Russia in opposition to the global West.

Unfortunately, this viewpoint blurs the lines of distinction between the parties involved, leaving Ukrainians questioning whether any sides exist at all.

After all, both Russia and the global West, directly or indirectly, bear responsibilty for the ongoing genocide in Ukraine. Does international law not include provisions for being complicit in genocide?

  • As part of the “civilized west”, I agree wholeheartedly with this piece. Many, many Americans are wanting to give Ukraine everything they need to push the Russians back to their own country and are angered by what we see as a massive lack of appropriate response to Russia’s invasion.

Personally, I believe (unlike the powers that be) Ukraine should be allowed to join NATO now, the steps they’ve taken, during wartime no less, are amazing. If Ukraine were allowed membership now, and NATO joined in the party, it would be done with a lot less loss of both military personnel and civilians.

    Again, great piece of writing!
