Mr. President! Volodymyr Humeniuk, the father of Ihor Humeniuk, who was killed on 05.07.2023 in the premises of the Shevchenkivskyi Court of Kyiv, is writing to you!

On July 5, 2023, my son was taken from the state pre-trial detention center under escort to the Shevchenkivskyi Court of Kyiv, where an ordinary citizen cannot go without a thorough check, where a court hearing was held to extend the term of detention.

What exactly happened after the hearing?

In Minister Klymenko’s speech to journalists, he learned about the explosions in the court from residents of neighboring houses, not from his subordinates who escorted my son to the court. How can this be?

Then, according to him, my son barricaded himself in the toilet in the courtroom(???), from where he threw explosives under the feet of the convoys, and jumped out in spite of everyone. There is a direct exit to the street from the courtroom toilet. Is it serious?

Then the head of the guard was outside, who fired a shot in the air, after which my son returned to the room, and again managed to run between all the guards into another room, where he again managed to barricade himself with something? Is this also serious, or is the minister telling a lie on the air? What was the group of guards who were in the room doing at that time, and according to the minister, none of them were injured when my son, who was less than 1.6 meters tall, was running between them outside and back?

After that, the KORD started storming the room where my son was, and he threw explosives again, which killed him, and two KORD officers were lightly wounded because they were saved by shields. If no one was killed in the first explosions, what did my son die of? Did he die immediately or was he seriously injured? If he was injured, what help was provided and if any?

We have seriously wounded soldiers being rescued under fire from the front line, but in the center of Kyiv they could not provide medical care to my son if he was wounded or killed by gunfire?

Where did the explosives in the courtroom come from? Will the minister lie again about making them himself from the medicine pills and tea packets found in his cell?

Currently, two criminal proceedings have been registered – on an attempted escape from custody and an attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer.

I demand the opening of another one – on the fact of the premeditated murder of my son Igor!
